Hi, I'm Pita.
I'm a Bangladeshi American Muslim designer and artist — first-gen, figuring out how to exist in the creative and tech world on my own terms. Art has always been a constant. From teaching myself to draw with Bangladeshi drawing books as a kid to now working at the intersection of UX, visual systems, and front-end development.
My practice spans a lot of ground: charcoal, acrylic, pastels, collage, digital illustration, motion graphics, and video and audio editing. I care about making things that are aesthetically considered but also actually mean something. A lot of that comes from being politically engaged and invested in social justice and human rights — those values tend to show up in the work whether I plan it or not.
Right now I'm studying Art & Web Development at USC, building a design practice that sits somewhere between product design, visual design, and creative technology. I also do a lot of curating for events and spaces, and love to lead.
Who I've Worked With
Specializations
Other Things I Do
APASA Diversity Chair
Asian Pacific American Student Assembly, within USC's Undergraduate Student Government. I support member organizations, collaborate with the executive board, plan large-scale events, and facilitate open conversations on cultural solidarity and Asian experiences.
Cultural Arts Expo
Co-planned and executed one of APASA's flagship annual events celebrating API arts and culture on campus.
Open General Meetings
Host open forums on cultural solidarity and topics relevant to the API community at USC.
Member Org Support
Advocate for and coordinate resources across member organizations through USG.
Executive Board
Work directly with the exec board on programming, outreach, and organizational direction.
"Efflorescent" Gallery Opening
Curated and directed the grand opening of the Bristol Arts & Innovation Magnet School Art Gallery, funded by a $500 Griptape grant. Spotlighted 10+ Connecticut artists, providing visibility, networking, and a space to sell their work. Attended by the Mayor, Superintendent, and hundreds of community members. I also exhibited my own work.
Solar Eclipse — Original Manga
An original manga series written, illustrated, and lettered entirely by me. The story follows two characters — current enemies — navigating a world fractured by war, genocide, and the fight for freedom. It centers themes of complicity, survival, and what it means to exist on opposing sides of the same violence.
Open to opportunities, collaborations, and commissions.
I'm actively looking for roles in UX design, product design, and creative technology. If something here resonated, reach out.
